The Long Belly Distance's unique head design will allow you to cast further and cover more water.
The Long Belly Distance was developed for versatility and distance. The 28 ft. body paired with the 25 ft. rear taper allows you to hold more line in the air for precise loop control and accuracy. The 7 ft. front taper effortlessly turns over nymph rigs, dry flies and streamers. This line features our signature Shooting Technology for a slick, quick shooting finish. The head design lets you roll cast and mend at longer distances with ease.
This line is built in true line size so your rod never feels overloaded when casting maximum distance. The moss and white color change at 22 ft. helps the angler track and dial in distances. This line features dual welded loops for convenient rigging.

Our Long Belly Distance fly line is built for cold water environments and will perform best in temperatures between 30 and 70 degrees (F).
The taper design for our Long Belly Distance fly line was built with an extended body and extended rear taper for carrying a lot of line in the air and achieving maximum distance. The 7' front taper effortlessly turns over nymph rigs, streamers and long leaders paired with dry flies.
The moss green and white color change helps track casting distance and identify optimal pick up and shooting points. These colors are stealthy yet traceable in freshwater environments.
Cleaning your fly line is very important especially when fishing saltwater. Simply pull line off your reel into a clean bucket or tub of freshwater. Put roughly 1oz or more of Cortland’s Line Cleaner solution onto a clean rag or towel. Firmly squeeze the towel with Pro Line Cleaner around the line and slowly pull line through the towel. You should be able to see dirt or discolored streaks on the towel when finished.
