Ghost Tip 15 Breakdown

The Ghost Tip 15 was designed for stillwater applications where presentations need to be in the upper to middle water columns or when fishing over structure.

The Ghost Tip 15 features a 27 ft. body paired with a short 5 ft. rear taper allowing for precise loop control and accuracy. The 5 ft. front taper effortlessly turns over nymphs and small streamers. This line features our signature Shooting Technology for a slick, quick shooting finish.

This line is built in true line size so your rod never feels overloaded when casting maximum distance. The clear tip is extremely stealthy and will help you fool the smartest fish. This line features dual welded loops for convenient rigging.

FAQ

Cleaning your fly line is very important especially when fishing saltwater. Simply pull line off your reel into a clean bucket or tub of freshwater. Put roughly 1oz or more of Cortland’s Line Cleaner solution onto a clean rag or towel. Firmly squeeze the towel with Pro Line Cleaner around the line and slowly pull line through the towel. You should be able to see dirt or discolored streaks on the towel when finished.

My most used line

Out of all the Cortland lines. this is by far my most used line. I use this line for coho in the saltwater and in freshwater, mostly in a 8# wt . I also use this line for cutthroat trout fishing , both saltwater and freshwater mostly in a 6# wt. I pack this lines for everyone of my fishing adventures.

Ghost Tip 15

Great line for wade fishing! Keeps you out of the weeds while still prodding depths and fishing at a speed to convert even the most suspicious targets.

Ghost tip

I will use it on Rio Gallegos. Shallow clear river with giant Sea-run Brown Trout. They are very wary and take a 10 ft flouro leader of 12 lbs. The Ghost tip will help with very stealthy casts with a single handed rod or two handed rods using snake roll, single spey, and switch casts using a clear intermediate 15 ft tip. Any noise spooks the Sea-runs out of the pool for the day.

Excellent intermediate tip line

I found this line to work well in the lakes where I was fishing for smallmouth bass. It was easy to cast and handled well above sunken trees and cover. I might also like a 10' clear tip line, but found that this worked well with dropoffs. I would highly recommend this line and will use it on rivers for most of the summer.

Casts and Fishes Great

It's one of the best casting Cortland lines there is, and casts amazingly well considering it's a sink tip, which historically are notorious for bad casting. I also like it because it gets a streamer under and allows me to critically manipulate the fly better than any sink tip line I've come across. This makes all the difference in presentation and effectiveness. I'm using it for river fishing.
